Kathryn Mueller, MD, MPH
Medical Director, Occupational Medicine & Population Health

Kathryn is a professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

She is an expert in disability management and serves as the Medical Director for the Division of Workers Compensation in Colorado, a post she has held since 1992. In this position she’s developed evidence-based guidelines used in Colorado and several other states as a basis for care for work-related injuries. She also directs the state workers compensation accreditation program for physicians. She is the past Residency Director for the occupational medicine residency program at CU School of Medicine.

Kathryn is president of the American College of Occupational Health and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM), the nation’s largest association representing occupational and environmental physicians. She is the former President of the Rocky Mountain Academy of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, served as Vice President and Secretary–Treasurer for the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and served on the board for both organizations.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from University of Nebraska and medical degree from University of Nebraska Medical School. She earned a master’s degree in Public Health from Medical College of Wisconsin.
